Human beings constantly experience a conflict between the desires of the flesh and the needs of the spirit. The reason many feel sleepy while reading the Bible but can binge-watch movies for hours is purely spiritual. Everything that nourishes the soul often contradicts the desires of the flesh.
The good news is that no one has to face this battle alone. When a person makes a sincere decision and strives to prioritize duty over desire, God provides the necessary support.
I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. (Galatians 5:16-17)
The Comforter works in the minds of those who choose to obey. When God looks at you and sees you determined, fighting against your own desires, He recognizes your struggle. That is when the Holy Spirit intervenes.
God sees your surrender—your yielding and your commitment at the Altar, choosing to go against your own will. Then He provides you with a Helper, the Holy Spirit, who will assist you in your battle against the flesh.
The Holy Spirit becomes a stronghold within the believer. However, the first step—renouncing error and taking action—rests with the person.
Many people suffer from binding spells, blockages, and destruction in their lives after visiting places of dubious spiritual origin. Recognizing this, we will continue the Point of Light Chain of Prayer on Fridays.
Everything presented to the Father, in the Name of the Son, will be consecrated on the Altar. The Point of Light will serve as a true point of deliverance, where, by stepping into it, you will be standing strong on the unshakable Rock that is the Word of God.
