Whoever is Thirsty, Goes to the Waters

Bishop Edir Macedo Explains that Faith Will Free a Person From Suffering

Whoever is Thirsty, Goes to the Waters

In Isaiah 55:1-2 it is written: “Ho! Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Why do you spend money for what is not bread, and your wages for what does not satisfy?

How many people are suffering, lost, disoriented, wanting to kill themselves? Only God can do something for them. But they have to want to seek Him, just as a sick person goes to the doctor when he is in pain.

When God said, “Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters,” He was not referring to just anyone, but only to those who are thirsty.

Afterward, God said: “come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.” That is, He meant that it is necessary to go to Him with joy. And he completed by saying: “Why do you spend money on what is not bread?”

Referring to frivolous things, to vanity. Whoever wants to have a healthy soul

Whoever wants to have a healthy soul must go to God. Whoever wants the Holy Spirit has to sacrifice, pay the price.

must go to God. Whoever wants the Holy Spirit has to sacrifice, pay the price. God is everywhere, but the Church symbolizes the Body of the Lord Jesus. So when a person goes to church, he shows that his soul is desperate. In the church, a person finds a sublime environment, listens to the Word of God, and reasons. Therefore, the person who wants to change his life must go to the Fountain of Waters and drink the best that God has to give him.
