Why Many People Do Not Receive the Holy Spirit

Receiving the Holy Spirit Requires Complete and Unreserved Surrender to God

Why Many People Do Not Receive the Holy Spirit

In the 17th message of the Fast of Daniel, Bishop Macedo emphasized that God desires to dwell within the human being but awaits a decision of total surrender.

Receiving the Holy Spirit Requires Complete Surrender to God

Many people do not receive the Holy Spirit because they lack total surrender to God. It is impossible to experience divine fullness by giving only a part of one’s life to Him.

Bishop Macedo pointed out that people often dedicate themselves fully to personal goals, whether that involves building a career, fulfilling a dream, or starting a family. They invest time, effort, and energy into these pursuits. Similarly, those who wish to receive the Holy Spirit must demonstrate that same level of commitment and willingness.

Total Surrender to Receive the Fullness of God

God Offers His Presence to Those Who Give Him Their Whole Life

During the message, the bishop explained that God offers to the human being His presence through the Holy Spirit. Therefore, this experience requires that the person respond with their whole life.

God desires to dwell within those who sincerely seek Him. Therefore, it is unfair to expect the totality of God while offering only a portion of one’s life in return.

The True Desire for God

The Intensity of a Person’s Surrender Reveals Their Sincerity

The intensity of a person’s surrender reveals how much they truly desire the Holy Spirit. More than mere words or emotions, it is the willingness to place one’s life on the Altar that demonstrates the sincerity of this seeking.

The bishop emphasized that God is not limited by anyone’s past mistakes, failures, or human condition. In fact, the Lord wants to completely transform a person’s inner being through the Holy Spirit.

A Decision That Depends on Each Person

God Is Willing, but Each Person Must Choose to Surrender Without Reservation

In concluding his message, Bishop Macedo stressed that God is willing to grant His greatness and presence to anyone, regardless of their merits. However, this can only happen in the lives of those who dedicate and surrender themselves to God without reservation.
