However, after this leap of faith, a period of waiting follows. It is during this time that trust becomes essential. Trust prevents discouragement in the face of difficult circumstances. It sustains faith until God’s answer manifests in the lives of those who remain perseverant.

David: An Example of Trust in God

Waiting Patiently for God Does Not Mean Remaining Passive

To illustrate this teaching, the bishop cited King David, who is described in the Bible as a “man after God’s own heart.” He referenced Psalm 40, where David states:

I waited patiently for the LORD; and He inclined to me, and heard my cry. (Psalm 40:1)

The bishop explained that this passage shows that trusting in God does not mean being passive. At times, it is necessary to act in faith and make decisions while maintaining trust until the answer arrives.

The Decision That Precedes the Miracle

After Acting in Faith, a Person Must Remain Steadfast and Await God’s Timing

Finally, Bishop Macedo emphasized that trust empowers a person to persevere after acting on their faith. Often, transformation begins with a firm decision to depend entirely on God, without holding back.

After taking that step of faith, it is crucial to continue trusting. Instead of allowing doubt to dominate the mind, a person must remain perseverant while awaiting God’s timing for the answer.

In this way, faith compels action, while trust keeps a person steadfast during the waiting period. Together, they strengthen the spiritual journey and prepare the way for God to perform miracles at the right time.
