Virginia’s Soul Winners Visit Those in Need Providing Nourishment and Prayer
Virginia, often referred to as “the birthplace of a nation,” is renowned for its rich history and significant landmarks, including the Pentagon. Visitors can explore the Historic Triangle—Jamestown, Colonial Williamsburg, and Yorktown—to experience the early foundations of American history. However, despite its illustrious past, Virginia faces a persistent issue with homelessness. The Point-in-Time (PIT) Count indicated 6,761 persons experiencing homelessness in Virginia on a single night in January, 2023.
On September 5th, 2024, at 6 PM, the Soul Winners group of The Universal Church hosted an event aimed at evangelizing, praying, and providing food items to homeless persons residing near an abandoned church building. Over ten volunteers participated, assisting around 20 people to ensure they received nourishment and support.
The impact of this initiative was profound, as expressed by participants. One person remarked, “I had no food to eat tonight at my workplace, so I am thankful for the gesture you have provided us. Now I have something to eat tonight.”
Another participant stated, “I sleep on the street and don’t know where my next meal will come from. But now I have something to eat for tonight.”
Pastor Edward shared an uplifting message: “God is able to reach all kinds of people as long as they believe.”
Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” (Mark 9:23)
