Over 150 People From Different Areas of Silver Spring Attended the Unisocial Event.
On Saturday, July 29th, 2023, 12 volunteers of the Unisocial group in Maryland reached out to those in need in a local shelter to provide an assortment of necessities. Every month the volunteers gather donated items to provide to those lacking in the Silver Spring, Maryland community.
According to the Maryland food bank, “The percentage of Marylanders who are finding it difficult to cover basic household expenses rose from 7.6% in December 2021 to 32.2% in June 2022.”
The volunteers see the community’s struggle to cover basic household expenses. Therefore they gathered donated personal hygiene items and fruits and distributed Bibles and books to provide to the residents of Progress Place Shelter.
Over 150 people from different areas of Silver Spring attended the Unisocial Event. Not only did the Unisocial volunteers give physical but, most importantly, spiritual aid. Pastor Eder, responsible for The Universal Church in Maryland, gave all a word of faith—everyone who desired received prayers as well.
