Discover What It Is at the Study of the Word of God Held Today (Wednesday, the 7th) by Bishop Macedo
On Wednesday night, Bishop Macedo led the Study of the Word of God meeting at the Temple of Solomon. He delivered a message about the meaning of the Kingdom of God, based on Matthew 6:33. The bishop emphasized the common mistake of seeking immediate solutions to problems instead of prioritizing what is eternal.
“Seeking first the Kingdom of God means placing yourself under His rule. It involves living by faith, letting go of the desires of the flesh, and allowing the Holy Spirit to reign within you,” said the bishop.
The bishop explained that the Kingdom of God is not physical, visible, or simply a religious institution. It is a spiritual kingdom that starts within a person when they fully surrender their life to God. “Jesus said, ‘The Kingdom of God is within you.’ This emphasizes that it’s not merely about attending church but being born of the Spirit,” he highlighted.
Ephesians 2:3 highlights that we are born with a sinful nature. However, when a person chooses to let go of worldly desires—such as selfishness, lust, and other carnal inclinations—and is born of the Spirit, they begin to experience a new reality: they enter the Kingdom of God.
The bishop clarified that accepting Jesus as Savior is not just a symbolic act; it signifies a profound and total surrender that involves renunciation. “Whoever desires the Kingdom of God but isn’t willing to give up the world has not yet been born of the Spirit,” he warned.
Additionally, the bishop called for personal responsibility: “There are pastors, bishops, and assistants who have never entered the Kingdom of God. But don’t focus on others—concentrate on your situation.”
When someone truly lives under the rule of the Holy Spirit, they start to experience a completely different existence. The bishop emphasized that such individuals do not live in depression, do not contemplate taking their own lives, do not let themselves be dominated by emotions, and are filled with the Spirit of life and eternity.
He concluded, “Those who live in the Kingdom of God experience a distinctive life. God is with them wherever they go, because God is within them.”
The church is open daily, and a special meeting occurs every Wednesday to strengthen our spiritual lives and seek the Holy Spirit. All are welcome regardless of religion, background, or circumstances. Come as you are.
