Many People Seek an End to Their Suffering Without Realizing That They Can Find It Through the Doors of Repentance
When we look at humanity’s history, we see that suffering entered the world through the door of sin. In the Garden of Eden, there was no pain, illness, disagreements, theft, murder, or death; only goodness prevailed. However, from the moment disobedience began, the suffering began.
This does not mean that God punishes people, but rather that they are punished by their own sins. We become servants of what or who we choose to obey. If we obey God, we are under His protection, and evil cannot touch us. Conversely, disobedience removes us from being under God’s authority, allowing evil free access to our lives. This is the origin of suffering.
Many lose their inner peace due to hidden sins, fearing exposure. In Psalm 32:3, King David describes what happened while he concealed his sin:
“When I kept silent, my bones grew old through my groaning all the day long.” (Psalm 32:3)
It’s as if the person is sick inside. But there is an exit door from this, which is called repentance. Do you want to have peace? Then, instead of justifying your actions, recognize your mistakes and let go of them. If you need to ask someone for forgiveness, take that step.
The door of repentance is narrow and challenging to cross, but on the other side, you will find freedom within your spirit, body, and soul. However, if you continue in your wrongs, you risk losing the most important thing you have: your soul.
All this may sound hard to put into practice or even daunting, but it’s easier than it seems, and we are here to guide you through this process. The doors of The Universal Church are open daily with daily prayer services and meditation on the Word of God, especially on Wednesdays at 10 AM, 4 PM, and 7 PM, and a main service on Sundays at 10 AM. All are welcome regardless of religion or background. Come as you are. Remember, no matter how hard your situation may seem, there is a way out!
