Misuse of Time Brings Man Down

Learn to Value Time, an Irretrievable Resource, and Discover How Simple Decisions Can Transform Your Day and Your Life

Misuse of Time Brings Man Down

Every man has the same 24 hours daily, but many stumble because they don’t use this resource intelligently. Writer Renato Cardoso reserved part of a lecture for the IntelliMen Project to discuss how many men have lost their way in time management. According to the writer, time is more valuable than money.

“You can earn money again, but time never comes back because what’s gone is gone,”  he said.

The misuse of time, according to Renato, is related to the childish aspect that exists within every man: “Every man has a boy inside him. When you see a bearded man flying a kite or spending hours playing video games, it is that inner boy that is manifesting itself.”

Maintaining hobbies or leisure time is not a problem. However, when this becomes a priority and takes the place of the responsibilities, the man ends up ruining his life.

Renato pointed out as an example the man who procrastinates, like the husband who hasn’t changed a light bulb his wife asked for in months: “He has time to waste but not to be responsible.”

This behavior reflects a failure to prioritize what matters. Many waste hours watching TV, playing video games, or doing activities that, in the end, add nothing to their lives or their families.

Misuse of time is often associated with laziness and idleness, which lead to irresponsibility. “If you want to overcome this, learn to respect your time and value the life you have,”  said the writer.

In a man’s routine, it is essential to seek spiritual growth. To this end, Renato suggests starting the day with a simple gesture of gratitude: “When you wake up, talk to God. Say something simple like, ‘Thank you, God, for another day.’”

He also recommends that men spend a few minutes doing something uplifting, such as reading a Bible verse. “It won’t take more than five minutes, but it can transform the rest of your day.”  It is crucial to maintain a connection with the Creator in all daily activities and seek to hear His voice for guidance.

Reflecting on and learning from mistakes are valuable steps towards using your time more wisely. In your day-to-day life, prioritizing what is truly important, such as family, work, and spiritual development, can make all the difference.
