Schedule | - 11:22 am
Friday at 10 AM, 4 PM, and 7 PM (Main Service)
Physical strength alone does not guarantee salvation. The biblical hero Samson (Judges 16), despite his formidable strength with which he overcame armies, could not control his impulses. He was strong in body but weak in self-control. This weakness ultimately led to his downfall.
The devil cannot make decisions for human beings; instead, he presents temptations and options that draw the person further away from God’s will. It is up to each person to decide whether to succumb to these pressures. Our main enemy is not the devil; our main enemy is our will and desires.
When a person acts impulsively and contrary to the Word of God, they open the door for evil to influence their life. While our desires may conflict with God’s will, it is ultimately up to each one of us to resist them, as expressed in these words from God to Cain and ultimately to each one of us:
(…) sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it.’ (Genesis 4:7)
To overcome personal challenges, one needs spiritual strength. Therefore, it is absolutely urgent and critical to seek the Comforter. One of the fruits of the Holy Spirit is self-control. Those who receive the Spirit of God gain the strength to resist sin and navigate the challenges of spiritual life.
If you recognize that you need to overcome your impulses, to receive divine peace and order into your life, or to address something hindering your spiritual growth, we invite you to participate in the Point of Light Friday Chain of Prayer for Spiritual Deliverance.
