Forgiveness

Forgiveness Is a Matter of Eternal Life or Death

Forgiveness

The primary key in our relationship with God is forgiveness. You become unfair before God when you feed resentment and do not forgive your neighbor.

God is love and mercy, but above all, God is justice. Only those who forgive can be forgiven.

“For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” (Matthew 6:14-15)

The Human Heart

The human heart is corrupt and tends to lean towards its bad feelings because we have no control over it. Suppose you follow your heart. It will open doors to evil actions. That action can move us away from the Most High and, consequently, from Salvation.

Therefore, the Word of God encourages us about the continuous use of faith and the care of our soul:

“Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life.” (Proverbs 4:23)

Forgiveness is a matter of eternal life or death. The Holy Scriptures, for example, reveal how David’s iniquity was able to generate death within him until he confessed his sin and received God’s forgiveness:

“When I kept silent, my bones grew old. Through my groaning all day long. For day and night, Your hand was heavy upon me; My vitality was turned into the summer drought. Selah. I acknowledged my sin to You, And my iniquity I have not hidden. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord, And You forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah.” (Psalm 32:3-5)

We human beings were not created for death but rather to enjoy the eternal and abundant life granted by the Lord Jesus through baptism with the Holy Spirit. However, that is only possible for those who forgive and prioritize presenting a pure heart before Him. Those who wish to receive forgiveness and the Spirit of Peace must use intelligent faith, contrary to their own will, and subject themselves to the Will of the Most High.
