Fear of God

Read and Meditate on Today’s Message

Fear of God

For destruction from God is a terror to me, and because of His magnificence I cannot endure. (Job 31:23)

Job’s concern to please God was very great, for he saw Him as great and powerful. He revered and feared Him from early in his life, and made Him his First Love.

Even though he had family and wealth, his trust was not in the gold or silver he possessed. Job dreamed of seeing the Lord face to face, and therefore God allowed him to hear His voice and see His marvelous works in his life. He healed Job of his illnesses, restored his goods, and blessed his entire household. It is an example of faith allied to intelligence in crying out for divine help.
