Born for the Altar—Youth Conference

They Chose to Become “Fishers of Men”

Born for the Altar—Youth Conference

The BFA, Born for the Altar, was a powerful three-day event held in New York that united young people from across the country, including a special group from the Micronesian community, with a shared purpose: to discover and follow God’s will for their lives.

On the first day, the youth participated in a night vigil, giving them the opportunity to seek the Holy Spirit. Bishop Joshua spoke about the importance of listening to God’s call and “leaving the nets behind,” emphasizing that God calls His servants to save souls.

Testimonies, God’s Word, and Spiritual Awareness

Born for the Altar—Youth ConferenceThroughout the event, heartfelt testimonies were shared. The youth learned about the spiritual dangers of today’s world, such as the “Inferno Net,” which reveals how evil uses the internet and worldly glamour to destroy young minds. The conference also focused on understanding one’s calling and the importance of obeying God’s Word and being guided by the Holy Spirit.

By the end of the event, many young people had made the life-changing decision to dedicate their lives to serving God.

“Leaving the Net”

Born for the Altar—Youth ConferenceMy experience at BFA 2025 was truly amazing. I learned so much. For example, I realized that if I ever went back to my life before finding Jesus, I would return to the same emptiness that could never be filled with the things of this world. I could have “good things” and be “successful,” but without God in my life, I would never be truly happy or successful.

When we talked about the internet, I understood how the devil genuinely uses it to spread evil things, things we should not see or hear. Through all the prayers and songs, I felt a deeper connection with God. It was also beautiful to see so many young people in the faith.

I definitely encourage more youth to attend the next BFA. I feel much more connected to the Lord now.
