Active, Practical Faith in the Word of God Produces Results
Just as any significant goal requires dedication and commitment, faith also yields results when put into practice. It is faith grounded in the Word of God that transforms a person’s life and leads them to the fulfillment of divine promises.
Bishop Macedo reiterated that everything from God is great, glorious, and eternal. The greatest promise reserved for human beings is an eternal dwelling place in Heaven.
However, this promise can only be attained by those who fully surrender themselves to God. This is because everything that truly has value demands a price. In the case of spiritual life, the cost is the exercise of faith and trust in the Almighty.
In discussing this surrender of life, the bishop referenced the parable of the hidden treasure, recorded in Matthew 13:44–46. In this passage, a man discovers a treasure in a field and sells all that he has to acquire it.
Similarly, the bishop explained that those who recognize the incomparable value of the Kingdom of God understand that salvation is the greatest treasure of all. Thus, they are willing to give up everything that may hinder them from reaching this goal.
Based on this understanding, supernatural faith leads to complete surrender. The bishop stated that when a person exercises this faith in the Word of God, their life comes to have a single focus: God and their salvation.
In conclusion, Bishop Macedo emphasized that God’s promises are fulfilled in a person’s life when they put their faith into action in obedience to the Word of God, investing all their strength and surrendering themselves completely.
Moreover, the more a person surrenders themselves to God and trusts in Him, the more they develop a willingness to obey, persevere, and remain steadfast on their journey of faith.
