Obtaining Salvation

But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation. For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, (1 Thessalonians 5:8-9)

Those who have received God’s forgiveness are sober people of faith and love because the helmet of salvation has transformed their thoughts and molded them in the Word of God, guaranteeing them eternal salvation in Christ Jesus.

This is what He destined them for: to be free from eternal death and heirs of the Kingdom of Heaven.
