God Rewards What We Do in Secret

God Rewards What We Do in Secret

The Lord Jesus instructs us that when we give alms, we should not make a show of it like the hypocrites, who seek glory from men, but we should do it in secret, and the Father, who sees in secret, will reward us publicly. In the same way, when we pray, we should not use vain repetitions like the Gentiles, who think that because they speak much, they will be heard (see the biblical reference in Matthew 6).

Jesus teaches that prayer must be objective and sincere and recommends that, when praying, we enter our room, close the door, and speak to the Father in secret. He, who sees everything in secret, will reward us, and, in the same way, the good we do in secret will glorify His Name.

Regarding prayer, He teaches us that it does not need to be long or full of beautiful words, but it needs to be true. When we pray from the heart, God hears us and answers us, even if we are in difficult times or simple places like a bathroom and behind closed doors.

God already knows what we need before we even ask. He sees everything, and nothing escapes His knowledge, but we must be truthful.

We also cannot doubt the Lord’s Prayer. It is powerful for the sincere but empty for the hypocrites. Unfortunately, hypocrisy, which is an insult to God, arises within religions and churches, where people pretend to be something they are not. God, however, knows hearts and distinguishes the sincere from the hypocrites. Therefore, seek God with sincerity, help others with discretion, and pray with faith and humility.
