The Holy Spirit is the X-ray of our soul2 min read

XRay of our soul

The X-ray was invented to identify the cause of a problem that can’t be seen with our physical eyes. The Holy Spirit functions as the radiologyof our soul. He reveals everything that is wrong within our lives; He guides us to the right path, showing when and how to make the right decisions.

If I say that I want to lose weight, but I eat fries and sweets every day, it makes whatever I said become meaningless. Similarly, when I say that I want to be baptized in the Holy Spirit and my actions show something different, God will not pour His Spirit upon my life, even though He wants it more than we can imagine. God wants to give us His Spirit for 3 main reasons: to save us, to capacitate us to serve Him and to help save others.

You will show God what you want through your actions. Here are some tips to help you who are thirsty for the Spirit of God in your life:

1- Stay away from what keeps you away from God. Avoid situations and places that you know will guide you to the things that displease God and harm your faith, such as pride, loss of temper, addictions, lies, grudges and gossip, among many other deceitful things. A prudent man foresees evil and hides himself; the simple pass on and are punished. (Pr 27:12)

2- Feed your spirit by reading the Word of God and meditating slowly, asking the Holy Spirit for guidance and making effort to put His Word into practice in your life. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. (Pr 9:10)

3- Focus your mind on what is spiritual, invest in your spiritual life. Take part of the 21 Days – Fast of Daniel and disconnect from what the world has to offer (movies, social media, entertainment, latest songs) for 21 days to recharge your spiritual life and seek the Holy Spirit. “For all that is in the world — the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life — is not of the Father but is of the world.” (1 John 2:16).

4- Until one receives the Holy Spirit it’s not reasonable to begin a romantic relationship. The Holy Spirit will help you to know yourself better and will help you to become a better person, the kind of person that is able to make someone else happy and build a family that loves and fears God. A wrong decision in your love life can cause much emotional pain and can put you in danger of losing what is most precious in life: your Salvation.

If you want to receive God in your life to change and better yourself, then you must sacrifice your will; mere words are not enough. Remember: the Holy Spirit knows if we are sincere or not.
