Yellow September

September is Suicide Awareness and Prevention Month, also known as Yellow September. Yellow September is a campaign about suicide prevention awareness. This year’s theme is “If You Need, Ask For Help!”

According to the CDC, “Suicide was the second leading cause of death for people ages 10-14 and 20-34.” The CDC also reported, “suicide deaths further increased in 2022, rising from 48,183 deaths in 2021 to an estimated 49,449 deaths in 2022, an increase of approximately 2.6%.”

There is Strength in Unity! Numerous institutions come together during September to strengthen the importance of suicide prevention in society. The HELP Project is one of the many projects continuously embracing this cause!

That is why The HELP Project has decided to make the whole year yellow supporting suicide prevention awareness! The Help Project promotes daily messages of faith on social media to help young people who face depression, anxiety, and self-mutilation overcome their problems and thus prevent suicide.

“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” (Ephesians 2:10)
