What Do All Generations Have in Common?

From Eden to Generation Z, Humanity Suffers From the Same Problems That Keep It Away From the Creator. Understand the Reason.

What Do All Generations Have in Common?

From the beginning of man to the present day, human beings live with many conflicts. But where did they come from, and why do these problems occur, and remain in Humanity since Eden, even after thousands of years? The answer lies in vanity. However, where did it come from?

The origin of the difficulties faced by man was revealed by Cristiane Cardoso in one of the editions of Meditation of the Word, a series available on Univer Vídeo, about the biblical book of Ecclesiastes: “When God created man and woman, life had no vanity, for they were created to serve and worship God. But with disobedience sin entered and, with it, selfishness, vanity and everything that is vain.”

The feeling of living for what is vain was recorded by Solomon, the man who was considered the richest in the world, but who, at the end of his life, realized that everything was temporary, when he said:

Vanity of vanities, says the preacher, vanity of vanities! It’s all vanity. What profit does a man have from all his labor, which he labors under the sun?  (Ecclesiastes 1.2-3).

Cristiane said that when human beings leave the purpose for which they were created, which is to serve and worship God, they begin to be guided by their desires and dreams, which are the fruits of vanity. “Just as it happened in Eden with man, it happens today. Today people do what they do for themselves, to be seen or boasted and not to glorify God. When Solomon says that everything is vanity, he means that everything that goes beyond the main objective for which we were created becomes futile.”

Even as the years and generations pass, Humanity continues to have the same problems, insecurities, and murmurings. “As long as you don’t realize vanity, how bad it is and where it is in terms of your personal dreams and your insistence on things, you will be a woman who will spend her life going around the clock, just like Salomão”, stated Cristiane.

Therefore, she also advised that every Christian woman evaluate what has really mobilized her thoughts, desires, dreams and attitudes so that she does not allow herself to be led away from the Creator by vanity. “You have to evaluate everything that has driven your life and choices every day and what benefit you derive from these things. When we question ourselves, we realize that, most of the time, God is not behind what you do or want, and that is where the root of inequity begins,” he concluded.
