Unisocial Event in Houston, TX

On Thursday, January 11th, 2024, a Unisocial Event occurred in Houston, TX. Over 15 volunteers from The Universal Church in Houston came together to prepare sandwiches, soup, drinks, and snacks for those in need.

According to a study from LendingTree, data collected by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) found the states with the most significant and smallest homeless populations. Its findings showed Texas to have the 5th highest rate of people experiencing homelessness. In fact, 44.05 percent of residents are in shelters.

With that in mind, the Unisocial volunteers came together in Harris County near the famous Minute Maid Park to distribute goods to people experiencing homelessness.

Prayers and words of faith were given to all those present. Houston, Texas, has been experiencing a frosty winter, and the hot soup brought smiles to those out in the cold. Everyone was grateful to be able to receive their goods.

One of the Unisocial volunteers from Texas commented, “It was great being able to help those in need, and I love being part of the Unisocial Team!”
