The Universal Church Celebrates 49 Years With a Global Impact

Marking 49 Years of Faith, Perseverance, and Millions of Lives Reached

The Universal Church Celebrates 49 Years

The Universal Church is celebrating its 49th anniversary with over 11 million beneficiaries of social programs in the first half of 2026. Over the past decade, the total number of people reached has nearly reached 143 million. However, some media outlets have published 3,616 negative, biased, or false news stories about The Universal Church.

A Decade of Social Impact

In the last ten years, The Universal Church’s social programs have helped 142.2 million people worldwide. Yet, most mainstream media have neglected to mention this significant achievement. Since 2016, at least 960 media outlets have deliberately targeted The Universal Church, producing over 3,600 negative, biased, or false stories—approximately one story per day.

This raises the question: who can withstand such a barrage of criticism, and how many of these stories can endure?

The Countdown to the Golden Jubilee Begins

Starting July 9, The Universal Church, which is founded on faith and obedience to the Word of God, will officially begin the countdown to one of the most significant dates in its history: the Golden Jubilee, celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2027.

The anniversary is celebrated not just for the faith journey cultivated over the years—today, The Universal Church gathers around 7 million people in Brazil and more than 3 million abroad—but also for the positive impact that continues to grow through its social initiatives, which are open to everyone, regardless of religion or background.

Millions Reached in the First Half of 2026

In the first half of this year alone, social initiatives reached over 11 million people worldwide—an increase of 18.83% compared to the same period in 2025, equating to 1.7 million more beneficiaries.

In Brazil, these initiatives reached 5.8 million people, equivalent to the population of Finland or a large city like Santiago, Chile.

Volunteers in Action Around the World

From January to June, there were 191,100 social actions carried out, supported by 608,000 volunteers across 141 of the 151 countries where The Universal Church operates.

In the fight against hunger, 544,228 basic food baskets were distributed, and more than 2.2 million meals were provided. Additionally, social programs delivered over 6,000 tons of food to families in vulnerable situations.

Humanitarian Support After the Earthquakes in Venezuela

The day after two earthquakes struck Venezuela on June 24, 2,500 volunteers from all social programs in the country were mobilized to provide immediate assistance to survivors and those involved in rescue operations.

This humanitarian effort, which is ongoing, has already helped more than 102,000 people, particularly in Caracas and the state of La Guaira, one of the most affected regions.

Immediate Assistance After the Explosion in São Paulo

In São Paulo (SP), after a gas leak explosion in the Jaguaré neighborhood in May, The Universal Church volunteers were quick to set up support tents during predawn hours to distribute water, food, and clothing and provide emotional support to affected families.

A Year of Short Films Celebrating the Church’s History

As part of the special programming leading to the Church’s Golden Jubilee, 365 short films will be shown daily for a year, chronicling its history, from its foundation to the present day, detailing accounts of faith, perseverance, missionary expansion, and the transformation of millions of lives worldwide.

Relaunch of Nothing to Lose

The first day of the countdown will also feature the relaunch of Nothing to Lose, the first volume of Bishop Macedo‘s autobiographical trilogy.

This new edition arrives with a refreshed graphic design, editorial revisions, and a new preface written by Cristiane Cardoso, who hosts the Love School on RECORD TV and is the author of the bestseller Bulletproof Marriage.

She states, “We live in a generation that gives up quickly, that retreats in the face of pain, criticism, and waiting. Thus, more than an autobiography, this book is a confrontation.”
