For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? (Matthew 16:26)
To God, the soul is most precious. Therefore, He purchased, with the blood of Jesus, all lost souls, and this ransom cost Him a very high sacrifice to redeem them from their sins. The reward is soul for soul: to be forgiven, one must pay with one’s own life—surrendering oneself into His hands. It will be necessary to abstain from everything, even from oneself, to enter the Kingdom of God.
