The Day of an Audience With God

Something very special is taking place on Sunday, October 12, at The Universal Church worldwide: The Day of an Audience With God.

Hannah’s Story

In the first book of Samuel, chapter 1, we learn about Hannah, who was married to Elkanah but was unable to have children. Because of this, Elkanah took a second wife named Peninnah, even though he loved Hannah.

This decision was influenced by the social pressure of the time for men to have descendants, which deeply humiliated Hannah. She lived with great frustration and pain from her unfulfilled desire for motherhood—until she decided to present herself before God at the Tabernacle (1 Samuel 1:10–18).

How This Applies to Our Lives

On this special day, we will invite, encourage, and provide the opportunity for people like Hannah—men and women living lives of heartbreak, frustration, and humiliation—to resolve their grievances directly with God. It will be a private audience with the Almighty.

Hannah, overwhelmed by her pain, could no longer endure her situation. She left her house, her husband, and her rival talking to herself, and went to the Tabernacle. Ignoring the priest, she approached God directly, pouring out her anguish and heartbreak.

For the first time, breaking with religious protocol, she used courageous faith, made a vow to God, and requested that He open her womb and give her a son—promising to return him to Him.

Hannah represents all those who feel humiliated, despised, and without human solutions to their problems. They eat their meals in tears, wetting their pillows every night with unacknowledged pain. But God understands their suffering.

October 12 will be the day they have their private audience with God.

Word of Faith With Bishop Macedo

Bishop Macedo spoke about this subject in the September 30 Word of Faith, reminding us of the importance of approaching God directly and personally:

Key Takeaways

• Many people depend on the faith of others or adhere strictly to religious traditions.
• However, the Bible teaches us the true path to God’s Altar, a symbol that has endured for generations.
Hannah remained trapped in religious customs for years, even though she knew the way to the Altar.
• Her husband Elkanah, influenced by social conventions, took a second wife—a decision rooted in religious formality rather than faith.
• When Hannah could no longer endure her pain, she turned directly to God, even when the priest Eli tried to stop her, being himself caught in tradition.

Understand this: You do not need intermediaries. God’s Altar is open to all who manifest faith in Him.
