On the morning of Sunday, February 9th, London welcomed Bishop Edir Macedo for the Meeting of the Nations, which was part of the celebration for the 30th Anniversary of The Universal Church in the United Kingdom. In a world where conflicts are reported daily, this special gathering brought together over 3,000 attendees from 85 different nations under one roof at the Cathedral of Miracles, together in the same spirit of faith and unity.

The 30th Anniversary of the Universal Church in the UK: The Meeting of Nations With Bishop MacedoBishop Macedo began the meeting by reminding them of the promise that wherever two or more people are, God is there (Matthew 18:20). Then, he called forward all those who were suffering so that they would have the opportunity to receive a transformation of life through faith. “Maybe your life is devastated, you are lost and desperate, and no one cares about you. My Lord came for those who are lost, desperate, sick, and oppressed. If you are in this situation, come here to the front to meet the Lord Jesus so that He can transform your life,”  invited the bishop.

The 30th Anniversary of the Universal Church in the UK: The Meeting of Nations With Bishop MacedoHe explained that the Holy Spirit desires to dwell within each of us, so anyone who believes and surrenders their life to Him will experience a transformation. Then, the bishop prayed and encouraged people to talk to God since only they knew what they needed. “Jesus asks, ‘What do you want Me to do for you?’ When you speak with Him—although you cannot see, feel, or touch Him, but you believe in His Word—you receive according to your faith. Focus on this Word, and then speak to God.”

After the prayer, Bishop Macedo thanked God for what He had done, assuring everyone that, regardless of how they were feeling, if they believed in the Word, they had already been answered by God. He added, “You will see, starting now. Mark this day on your calendar. You will see what God will do in your life!”

The Lord’s Supper

The 30th Anniversary of the Universal Church in the UK: The Meeting of Nations With Bishop MacedoBishop Renato then continued the meeting by announcing that in a few moments, everyone would have the opportunity to partake in the Lord’s Supper. However, before, he would like to explain the meaning of this sacred ceremony.

“For your Maker is your husband, The LORD of hosts is His name…” (Isaiah 54:5)

“The word ‘husband’ in the Bible means one who cares. God wants to be your husband, but for that to happen, you need to be to Him as a wife is to her husband. You need to give your life to Him. This is the meaning of the Lord’s Supper,”  explained Bishop Renato.

United Through Faith

Before concluding the meeting, the bishop highlighted the fact that many nations were present that day. “There are 85 nations under this roof today, thank God, and there is no sound of war! Isn’t that amazing? That’s because He is our Lord. We may be from different nations, speak different languages, and have different cultures. However, we are all citizens of the Kingdom of God.”

Evening Service

The 30th Anniversary of the Universal Church in the UK: The Meeting of Nations With Bishop MacedoIn the evening, at 6 PM,  Bishop Edir Macedo returned to continue the celebration of the 30th Anniversary of The Universal Church in the United Kingdom, bringing a special message about true surrender to God, warning that many people spend years in church, gaining blessings, but do not experience peace or the presence of the Holy Spirit. He explained that this happens when God does not occupy the first place in a person’s life.

Drawing on Mark 8:34, he emphasized that following Jesus requires denying oneself and putting God above all else. “If there is anything between you and the Lord Jesus—whether it is a relationship, money, or a dream—it has already taken His place,”  he said.

Thus, the key to spiritual transformation is straightforward: when God is truly first in your life, everything changes.
