On Sunday, January 11th at 10 AM
In moments when we feel overwhelmed or on the verge of giving up, courage becomes essential. The good news is that God speaks of courage often in the Bible.
Take Joshua, for example. As he prepared to lead the Israelites into the Promised Land, God instructed him,
Be strong and of good courage…” (Joshua 1:6–7)
Joshua faced a daunting task: guiding a nation into unknown territory and confronting enemies. God’s words reminded him that true courage stems from trusting Him, even when the task seems impossible.
Later, David encouraged his son Solomon with the same words (1 Chronicles 28:20) as Solomon prepared to build the temple. David recognized that the task ahead was immense—not just in size, but in significance. His words urged Solomon to remain faithful, rely on God, and be bold, demonstrating that courage grows from faith and obedience, not from the absence of fear.
Hezekiah advised the people to “be strong and courageous” (2 Chronicles 32:7) at a time when they faced a terrifying threat from the Assyrian army. He understood that fear could paralyze them, but trust in God would provide the strength needed to stand firm.
Even the Lord Jesus reassured His disciples, saying,
… be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. (John 16:33)
He knew that they would encounter trials and persecution and go into unknown places after His departure. His words were not a promise of an easy life; instead, they were a reminder that through Him, they could have peace and courage, even when the world seemed against them.
These examples show us that courage does not mean life becomes easy overnight. Instead, it is about holding onto faith in difficult circumstances and choosing hope over despair. Those who succumb to discouragement achieve nothing. It is through good cheer and with courage that we can overcome the world.
With this faith, on January 11th, the Sunday of Good Courage will take place at The Universal Church. It is a special day for anyone who feels tired, unmotivated, or unsure if real change is possible this year.
We warmly invite you to join us because no one overcomes challenges alone. While discouragement can weigh us down, faith strengthens us, and a courageous attitude prepares us for whatever lies ahead. Above all, it is God who empowers us to face the future with confidence.
During the meeting, we will also partake in the Lord’s Supper—a powerful opportunity to renew your faith and strengthen your resolve for the year ahead. Come as you are, and leave strengthened, encouraged, and ready to move forward.
Join us this Sunday at 10 AM at The Universal Church. Everyone is welcome, regardless of religious beliefs or background. For more information, please call 1-888-332-4141 or text 1-888-312-4141.
