An Active Faith in the Word of God Strengthens the Mind, Overcomes Doubt, and Leads to True Peace
During the message, the bishop explained that when doubt prevails over faith, a person first loses the inner battle. This loss leads to frustration, insecurity, and defeat, which then manifest in their external life.
He highlighted that doubt is one of the primary weapons evil uses to undermine trust in God’s promises. As a result, many people end up attributing their problems to luck, misfortune, or karma. According to Bishop Macedo, believing in these notions prevents people from recognizing how such ideas are used by evil to weaken their faith.
To illustrate how to win this inner battle, Bishop Macedo referenced the following verse from the book of Romans:
For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, ‘The just shall live by faith.’ (Romans 1:17)
He emphasized that it is not religion that transforms lives, but faith in the Word of God. This faith empowers a person to overcome the challenges of daily life.
Those who know and practice the Word of God find the strength to overcome negative thoughts, face adversity, and remain steadfast, regardless of their circumstances.
In concluding his message, the bishop brought to remembrance this promise in Psalm 91:
He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. (Psalm 91:1)
He explained that this secret place symbolizes communion with God, where a person can find rest, security, and peace for their soul.
Therefore, he concluded that winning this battle requires the daily nourishment of faith through the Word of God. In doing so, we can overcome whatever tries to steal our peace and experience true rest in the shelter of the Most High.
