How long, O Lord? Will You forget me forever?
How long will You hide Your face from me?
How long shall I take counsel in my soul,
Having sorrow in my heart daily?
How long will my enemy be exalted over me? (Psalm 13:1-2)
No one likes to go through afflictions, but when they come, if a person does not have faith and conviction that God sees everything—and even allows certain situations for their own good—they easily despair.
However, sadness and humiliation break their heart before God and cause them to seek answers in His promises, depending solely on Him, for He alone has the power to rebuke the devourer who tries to trouble His chosen ones.
