Oh, that one might plead for a man with God, as a man pleads for his neighbor! (Job 16:21)
Job understood that, just as men defend and help each other to understand and resolve their problems, it would be desirable for the same to happen between the human being and God.
He thought this was impossible—and how wrong he was! For God spoke to him, restored his life, healed him of his illness, and granted him a new family.
