Novena of the Lord’s Prayer: How to Become a Child of God

Participants Are Invited to Bring a Loaf of Bread to Be Blessed This Sunday, November 8

Novena of the Lord’s Prayer: How to Become a Child of God

The Universal Church began the Novena of the Lord’s Prayer on Sunday, November 1. The final nine Sundays of the year will be dedicated to deepen our understanding of what it means to become heirs to the promises recorded in the Word of God.

Children and Heirs of God

Being an heir means having a right to an inheritance. But first, one must become a child. Through the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus, those who surrender themselves to God and trust in His Word can become His children and heirs, as it is written in John 1:11–12,

He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:

The Bible is a testament filled with God’s promises. Those who surrender themselves to Him and trust in His Word can receive this inheritance and see His promises fulfilled.

Therefore, in addition to taking part in this novena of faith, participants will receive biblical guidance on recognizing their spiritual struggles and turning to the Father for help.

The Bread Represents Trust in the Father’s Care

In this context, the bread brought to be blessed represents dependence on God and trust in His care and provision. Through this gesture, this novena invites participants to reflect on their relationship with the Father and strengthen their faith.
