“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.” (Matthew 7:13-14)
The Lord Jesus said, “I am the door.” However, He also taught that this door is narrow and tight. It requires effort to enter through. It is necessary to make sacrifices: face contempt, humiliation, losing friends, suffering misunderstandings from family members, and abdicating many things.
On the other hand, there is a wide door, easily accessible, which offers many pleasures but also brings pain and suffering and ultimately leads to perdition and eternal death.
It is not worth winning all the world offers, such as success and riches, and losing one’s soul. It is much more worth rejecting the offers of the world and ensuring the eternal salvation of the soul.
