On September, the Youth Power Group (YPG) Held a Nationwide Movement to Bring Awareness to Mental Health and Prevent Suicide Among Youths
On September 21st, the Mega HELP event took place in multiple states of the USA. September is known as National Suicide Prevention Month. Every year, the Youth Power Group (YPG) finds ways to bring awareness to the community through events that promote mental health and positivity among youths. About 1,500 people attended the Mega HELP event nationwide.
This movement was more than just a gathering; it involved sports activities, marching, and bringing communities together to shine a light on the struggle many face with suicidal thoughts. Through these actions, we hope to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health and encourage open conversations about this important issue.
About 500 YPG volunteers nationwide are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of those who are struggling emotionally. Every day, we strive to offer a listening ear, a helping hand, and a non-judgmental space for anyone battling with thoughts of suicide.
If you or someone you know needs someone to talk to, don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here for you, ready to support you on this journey. There’s no judgment—just help, hope, and understanding.
Unique stated, “Before coming to the HELP Project, I was depressed, had anger issues, and did not talk to anyone. I was distant from my family, and I didn’t really like leaving the house. But then, after coming to the HELP Project, I am able to talk with my family and share memories like it’s nothing, connecting with other people and just treasuring life.”
Yanique stated, “I was pretty depressed and riddled with anxiety before coming to the HELP Project. My relationship with my family wasn’t great; it was pretty bad. After coming to the HELP Project, I started to be more happy and less depressed as time went on. It wasn’t right away, but it eventually did happen. My relationship with my family started to improve, and we began to grow closer and form a stronger bond. Nowadays, I’m pretty happy, and my family relationship is doing great.”
