Initiative Brings Hope to Young Women in Peru

Volunteers reach out at Santa Margarita Juvenile Rehabilitation Center

Initiative Brings Hope to Young Women in Peru

On April 2, 2025, Universal Socioeducativo (USE)  volunteers held a special event at the Juvenile Diagnostic and Rehabilitation Center in Santa Margarita, located in Lima, Peru. The center, exclusively for girls, currently houses around 90 adolescents undergoing socio-educational measures.

The Goal of the Event

The center’s mission is to assist in the social reintegration of young women in conflict with the law through resocialization programs.

The purpose of the USE event was to demonstrate to these young women that true happiness and fulfillment can only be found in the Lord Jesus. He alone can quench their spiritual thirst.

What Took Place

• The event lasted about two hours.

• This was the first time the USE initiative was hosted at this location with the support of the Help Project.

• A group of 17 dedicated volunteers participated.

• The gathering included a faith-based message, a moment of prayer, and words of encouragement.

• At the conclusion of the event, snacks were provided to all attendees.

A Word of Faith and Encouragement

but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”— John 4:14

The message highlighted that only the Lord Jesus can quench our spiritual thirst.

A Word From the Pastor

Pastor Sidney Frank Farias Moreira, who oversees the USE outreach program in Peru, shared his reflections:
“It was powerful to see how the young women received the Word and understood that only Jesus can quench their spiritual thirst. The most touching moment was the appeal when all of them decided to accept Jesus and drink of the Living Water,”  he said.
