How to Remain an Attractive Person Forever

This topic was discussed during the Love Therapy lecture on Thursday, September 19th, 2024, at Solomon's Temple.

How to Remain an Attractive Person Forever

On this date, Bishop Renato Cardoso and his wife, Cristiane, led the Love Therapy lecture at Solomon’s Temple, emphasizing the importance of attraction in relationships.

What Makes a Man Attracted to a Woman, and Vice Versa?

Attraction usually begins when a man or woman notices something about the other person—whether it’s their physical appearance, demeanor, way of speaking, posture, or smile. Something catches their attention, sparking the beginning of attraction.

From there, the courtship begins. Initially, a relationship is fueled by this mutual attraction—everything about the other person feels exciting and new. However, this initial excitement eventually fades, and the relationship enters a calmer phase. The attraction then matures into a deeper, more stable love.

For a relationship to thrive and for love to last, it is crucial that couples maintain the admiration that first brought them together. This is where many relationships falter—they neglect this essential element of attraction.

Insights from Bishop Renato

“How do you keep the flame alive in a relationship? This is the great challenge couples face today. The Bible offers guidance on all matters, including this one. Marriage was not meant to be a prison or a punishment. When done according to God’s will, marriage is the closest thing to heaven on earth,” said Bishop Renato.

He referenced Proverbs 15:13 and 15:

“A happy heart makes the face cheerful, but heartache crushes the spirit.”

“All the days of the oppressed are wretched, but the cheerful heart has a continual feast.”

“What these verses show is that the inner state of a person affects the outer. Imagine a party that never ends—that is what marriage can be when attraction remains. It’s a constant celebration. But if your heart is sad, burdened, or oppressed, no amount of outward effort—makeup, beauty, filters—can cover the pain of a troubled heart. So, if someone wants to remain attractive forever, they need to start by addressing their heart—their inner self,” Bishop Renato advised.

The Four Areas of Attraction

Bishop Renato then outlined four key areas where attraction is rooted:

  1. Physical Attraction: This is the first impression, where you either find someone visually appealing or not. However, true physical attraction often grows based on how you feel about the person as you get to know them.
  2. Intellectual Attraction: We marry not only a person’s body but also their mind. Intellectual attraction comes from feeling understood and connected. It also involves being wise in life, handling problems effectively, and avoiding behaviors that put the relationship at risk. Emotional intelligence is highly attractive.
  3. Spiritual Attraction: This is about admiring a person’s relationship with God. When you feel safe in this aspect, it becomes a powerful source of attraction.
  4. Security: Security is the result of all three of the above—physical, intellectual, and spiritual attraction. When these are in harmony, it creates a deep sense of security in the relationship.

Finally, Bishop Renato emphasized that when a person works on these four areas, they naturally become more attractive, and this attraction can last forever.
