Discover the Relationship Between Christian Women and Israel

How to Avoid Being Influenced by Negative Influences

We live in a world that constantly seeks to shape our thoughts, values, and behaviors. The influences we encounter are often subtle, disguised as something normal. The media, culture, and even some personal relationships may try to distance us from our faith and Christian principles. Those who allow themselves to be led by these external pressures risk forgetting what God has done for us and abandoning our trust in Him, which can lead to a diminished sense of self-worth and actions driven by fear, opening the door to negative influences.

This topic was discussed by writer Cristiane Cardoso in episode 23 of season 19 of the Meditation of the Word series, available on Univer Video. Cristiane referenced Isaiah 18:1-7 and highlighted that Israel occupies a strategic geographic location that has caused many nations to covet its territory.

From the time of Egypt, with Pharaoh and Moses, Israel has faced constant enemies. Often, out of fear, Israel sought alliances with other nations instead of trusting in God. Cristiane drew a parallel between Christian women and Israel: “As a Christian woman, you are a treasure. You are a virtuous and kind woman, not someone selfish who seeks only fame and money. You are a woman of value, like Israel, and everyone is watching you.”

So, what happens? Just like Israel, women today face many adversaries who attempt to influence them, often leading them to forget their true value. Cristiane used the beauty industry as an example, explaining how it can lead women to believe that they are never enough, prompting them to spend more and more on superficial appearances. This focus on vanity distracts women from God and causes them to lose their essence.

How to Escape Negative Influences

The key to protecting yourself from negative influences is to invest in your relationship with God. As we read in Romans 12:2, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”  Therefore, dear reader, remain vigilant and ask God for discernment when faced with situations that may lead you to adopt the “normal” of this world. Instead of exchanging holiness for compromises with evil, put your trust in the Almighty.

Additionally, be selective about your friends and the environments you engage with. Focus on what is eternal and what brings you closer to Salvation. Finally, be cautious with the alliances you make, as not everything that glitters is gold.
