On August 31st, 2024, a heartwarming event took place at a nursing home in Brooklyn, NY, under the leadership of Pastor Kennedy and Caleb Group. ‘Helping Does Good,’ was aimed to uplift the spirits of the elderly, encourage physical activity, and share the love of God with residents.
Caleb Group‘s five dedicated volunteers joined Pastor Kennedy in visiting the nursing home on August 31st, 2024, where they interacted with 20 to 25 residents. The team engaged the elderly in light physical activities to promote health and well-being, while also offering emotional and spiritual support. Through conversations, prayers, and shared moments, they brought comfort and joy to those in need.
A special highlight of the event was the baptism of Raymond O’Neil, a 73-year-old nursing home resident who expressed a deep desire to serve God and help others. In a beautiful ceremony, Raymond was baptized and named an honorary Caleb Assistant, symbolizing his commitment to being used by God to inspire and uplift his fellow residents. His willingness to embrace a life of service touched everyone present.
Pastor Kennedy remarked on the event’s success, saying, “The love of God transforms lives. Today, we see how even in the later stages of life, people like Raymond can find purpose and bring hope to others.” The event not only promoted physical and emotional well-being but also reinforced the message that it’s never too late to be used by God.
