Good Fruits

Read and Meditate on Today’s Message

For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. (James 3:16-17)

 
Consider well, my friend: envy and contentious spirit bring disturbances, and this is an evil in the life of those who accept them, without realizing that they generate many troubles and curses upon themselves.

However, the people who receive guidance from God are wise, pure, peaceful, moderate, meek in spirit, easy to deal with, merciful, and bear fruit without partiality and without hypocrisy.

Observe how the emphasis is placed first on purity, and secondly on peace—that is, the goodness—and, in the sequence, come the other fruits.
