Foolish Soul

Read and Meditate on Today’s Message

And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take your ease; eat, drink, and be merry.” ’ But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have provided?’ (Luke 12:19-20)

Human beings work, study, eat well, travel, and strive to lack nothing. However, God calls them fools for thinking this way because man does not live by bread alone but by practicing His Word. And God asks: if you die today, where will your soul go? Will everything you have conquered, the enjoyment and relaxation, be able to save you?

Happy is the soul that puts God first. And you, which side are you on? The side of darkness or the side of light?
