Day and Night

And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so as to go by day and night. He did not take away the pillar of cloud by day or the pillar of fire by night from before the people. (Exodus 13:21-22)

When the people of Israel left Egypt, free from slavery, they had the pillar of cloud during the day and the pillar of fire at night, walking with them all the time on their way to the Promised Land.

Today, God’s people have the Holy Spirit dwelling within each of them, day and night, directing their lives and protecting them from all evil until they reach the Heavenly Promised Land.
