Children Who Christian Mothers Raise Are More Likely to Remain in the Faith

Parents Play an Essential Role in Their Children’s Lives

Children Who Christian Mothers Raise Are More Likely to Remain in the Faith

Children who Christian mothers raise are more likely to remain in the faith throughout their lives.

“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6)

The Bible stated thousands of years ago how important it is to guide children in the path of God. A study shows that children who grow up with Christian mothers tend to remain in the faith even after childhood.

According to research by the American Bible Society (ABS), Of adults in the USA who engage with the Bible, “At least 73 percent were introduced to it as children. Of those who don’t use the Bible, more than half (55%) come from homes with little or no Bible engagement.” (30).

The study also states, “5 in 8 Americans (63%) say their religious faith is the same as their mother’s when they were ten. Much can be said about the groups that showed more change or less. The significant finding is that most Americans still follow “the faith of their mothers” (36).

The study cites Proverbs 22:6, declaring how the verse is necessary to nurture the faith of so many mothers worldwide. Parents play an essential role in their children’s lives because children who Christian mothers raise are more likely to remain in the faith throughout their lives. Therefore, they should not lose heart but continually plant the Word of God in their children through teaching and, above all, through their conduct.
