South Carolina and Elderly Population

South Carolina is renowned for its rich history, natural beauty, and vibrant culture. From the Civil War to stunning natural attractions like the Blue Ridge Mountains, coastal marshlands, and sunny beaches such as Myrtle Beach, the state offers a diverse range of experiences. Among its population of over 5 million, more than 1.28 million are seniors, making up 25% of the state’s residents.

Caleb Group Event in South Carolina

On October 13th, 2024, at 1 PM, six volunteers from the Caleb Group in South Carolina gathered to offer encouragement and health support, such as blood pressure checks, to the elderly. The event saw about 20 attendees, who benefited from both the physical and spiritual guidance offered.

A Word of Faith

Bishop Edson delivered an inspiring message, urging attendees to care for their souls just as they care for their physical bodies. His words reminded everyone of the importance of both spiritual and physical well-being.

A Biblical Reflection

During the event, Bishop Edson shared a parable from the Bible:

“The land of a rich man was very productive. And he began reasoning to himself, saying, ‘What shall I do, since I have no place to store my crops?’ Then he said, ‘This is what I will do: I will tear down my barns and build larger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods. And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years to come; take your ease, eat, drink and be merry.”’ But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your soul is required of you; and now who will own what you prepared?’ (Luke 12:16-20)

This reflection served as a powerful reminder to prioritize the things in life that truly matter.
