Bishop Macedo Makes a Special Visit to Goree Unit in TX

Bishop Macedo makes a special visit to Goree Unit in TX on Tuesday, June 13th, 2023. For the first time, The Universal Church and UBB founder, and his wife, Ester Bezerra, visited the inmates in the United States. There were 110 inmates present to listen attentively to the word of God.

Universal Beyond Bars

The volunteers of the UBB, which stands for Universal Beyond Bars, visit inmates to provide emotional support, but most importantly, spiritual guidance. In many locations worldwide, the UBB conducts meetings inside jails. Inmates can listen to a word of faith, and many decide to begin a new life. The UBB also reaches out to the prisoners’ families. These family members live emotionally distressed because they face uncertainty about what the future holds for their loved ones.

“Remember the prisoners as if chained with them—those who are mistreated—since you yourselves are in the body also.” (Hebrews 13:3)

Prison/jail inmates are often seen as society’s failures; people who can be set aside and forgotten or who are feared, condemned and despised for the wrong that they did. The harder and more challenging the case, the greater our faith and determination to see a breakthrough. It’s a real pleasure when we see people turn their backs on a criminal lifestyle to build something positive for the future.

During the service, Bishop Edir Macedo tells the inmates, “We did not come here to tell you that Jesus loves you because that’s not enough. That’s not enough! We did not come here to talk about the history of Jesus. No, we came here to bring you peace in the name of our Lord Jesus!”

Bishop Macedo makes a special visit to pray for the inmates in the Goree Unit in TX. If you have a loved one in prison, speak to a pastor at the nearest Universal Church to arrange a visit. For more information, call 1-888-332-4141.
