Beloved Son

Read and Meditate on Today’s Message

And the Holy Spirit descended in bodily form like a dove upon Him, and a voice came from heaven which said, ‘You are My beloved Son; in You I am well pleased.’ (Luke 3:22)

 
The Lord Jesus did not need to be baptized, for He had no sin, but, as an example for us, He obeyed the Father in all things. This greatly pleased God, who made a point of declaring: This is My beloved Son! If we also obey Him in everything, He can say that we are His children and much loved by Him, because we sanctify His Name.
