This Year, We Emphasize the Power of Youth in Creating a Hopeful Future Grounded in Faith
The youth phase of life is marked by physical, psychological, and social changes, along with pressures from family and society that can create uncertainty for young people. However, faith provides a different perspective during this crucial stage of life.
The biblical passage 1 John 2:14 highlights the strength of young people: “Young people, I am writing you, because you are strong…”
This strength serves as a crucial differentiator for young individuals, enabling them to create a positive impact on the world.
The Youth Power Group (YPG) is one of the largest youth-focused movements within The Universal Church. It promotes activities that help young people overcome challenges and build a brighter future. Through sports, cultural initiatives, professional training, and spiritual guidance, the YPG has served as a refuge for thousands of teenagers and young adults worldwide grappling with issues such as depression, drug addiction, and social vulnerability.
Through meetings, projects, and various activities, the YPG promotes biblical values and respect, creating an environment where young people can grow and develop their talents. In doing so, they become influencers of good.
The Universal Church has declared 2025 as the Year of Youth to emphasize the importance of this vital stage of life. The goal is to strengthen their commitment to supporting young people through initiatives that encourage growth and positive transformation.
“Young people are the future of the world, but they are also the present. We need to invest in their development so that they can build a more just and balanced society,” emphasized Bishop Edir Macedo.
