In the tenth message of the Fast of Daniel, Bishop Macedo emphasized that many people desire a new life. However, not everyone is willing to make the necessary decisions to achieve it. Transformation, as promised by God, requires a change in attitude and actions, as well as the abandonment of everything that separates a person from His will.

Bishop Macedo explained that God is ready to transform any life. However, this change depends on each person’s decision to turn away from error and draw closer to God. He stated that renunciation must precede transformation.

During the message, the bishop highlighted that it is insufficient to merely fast, pray, meditate on the Word of God, or dedicate oneself to the work of evangelism without a sincere commitment to abandon a life of sin.

Anyone seeking a new life must leave behind everything that fuels sin and strengthens the influence of evil. After all, it is impossible to serve God and remain connected to sin simultaneously.

Remove What Contaminates Life

True Deliverance Requires a Personal and Conscious Decision

Bishop Macedo further explained that, to be freed from the influence of evil, a person needs to remove everything that belongs to spiritual darkness from their life. This is a personal decision that cannot be transferred to God.

If something contaminates the mind, weakens faith, or distances a person from communion with God, it is up to that person to remove that influence. This represents true deliverance: a total and conscious surrender to the Lord.

The Body as the Temple of God

Daily Choices Reveal Whom a Person Truly Serves

As stated in Romans 12:1, the body should be presented to God as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to Him. This surrender involves daily choices that reflect whom a person truly serves.

According to the bishop, when a person keeps their conscience focused on God and seeks to obey His Word, they receive protection, guidance, and support from the Almighty.

Conversely, those who allow themselves to be dominated by the desires of the flesh and their own will end up straying from God’s purposes.

The Choice Between Spiritual Life and Death

A New Life Begins With Complete Surrender to God’s Will

In concluding his message, the bishop emphasized that those who incline themselves toward the things of the Spirit find life, peace, and communion with God.

In contrast, those who insist on following the desires of human nature walk toward spiritual death. Therefore, the new life that many seek begins when a person decides to renounce sin and live according to God’s will completely.
