Ending Holiday Gloom

A Sunday of Healing for the Sorrowful Soul

Ending Holiday Gloom

Amidst the celebrations, Christmas lights, decorations, and shopping sprees, many people find comfort in this season. They embrace the season in hopes of warming their hearts and being able to smile, even if for a few days. However, after removing the decorations and lights, and when the Christmas tree goes back into storage, as the brightness and colors of the season give place to the usual gray of daily life, those who feel empty inside once more have to face the emotional burdens and brokenness they have been battling all year long.

God Sees the Brokenhearted

The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves such as have a contrite spirit. (Psalm 34:18)

Perhaps holiday gloom has been your case, or the situation of a friend or loved one. Thoughts may have come to mind in the midst of joblessness, illness, depression, financial hardship, or loss and grief, that God doesn’t see and doesn’t care.

That is not true. God sees you, and it is not His will for you to remain in pain. He wants to save you.
