Bishop Renato Cardoso and His Wife, Cristiane, Explained What These Items Are During the Love Therapy
Bishop Renato Cardoso and his wife, Cristiane, explained what the essential items to be happy in a relationship are during the Love Therapy on Thursday, August 29th.
Many want to find fulfillment in love. They want someone to complete them so they can build a family and live together for the rest of their lives. Many people have even made a list idealizing the person of their dreams.
But is it possible to find someone with all the items on this list?
This is what Bishop Renato and Cristiane Cardoso spoke about this Thursday, August 29th, during the Love Therapy at the Temple of Solomon.
The couple remembered the biblical passage described in the book of James, chapter 4, verses 2 and 3:
You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures.
“This list myth needs to be overcome, overturned. Because of this myth, many people have remained single in the church. There is a confusion between faith and wish list. When we talk about faith, the spiritual world, you enter a field where there is no discussion. If you say: ‘I have faith to make a list of at least ten items for my future husband, future wife,’ it is your faith… But, sometimes, we ask for what we don’t know, don’t understand, the Word of God itself talks about it, our wrong way of asking. They ask badly, they ask wrongly, moved by a delight; they want to take advantage, waste money, enjoy a personal whim, and that is where many of these lists emerge and lead people to an idealization that is impossible to achieve and end up not using their faith,” said the bishop.
The Bishop then highlighted two essential items to be happy in love. See the first of them below:
“If you really want a person to come and give you peace and security, whether male or female, then the main characteristic that this person must have is the Holy Spirit. He is our GPS; He is the one who guides us. In the case of singles, the Holy Spirit is the one who will help you choose the right person, not with futile and useless criteria, but to choose—really—what matters,” said the bishop.
Likewise, for Cristiane, the Holy Spirit is fundamental for a person to learn to love:
“He guides you in a prudent way and, therefore, you won’t make mistakes like so many people make mistakes out there. The Holy Spirit teaches us to love, because our idea of loving is a lot of feelings…”
The second and last point is that you like what you know.
“No one loves what they don’t know (…) [So], be open to getting to know the person. This is the natural process of liking and loving anything or anyone,” added the bishop.
