\nMany people achieve success in various areas of life but face difficulties in their spiritual lives because they cannot control their impulses<\/strong>. After all, a lack of self-control<\/strong> can destroy homes, compromise relationships, and distance people from God.<\/big><\/div>\n

A Lesson From Samson<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Physical strength alone does not guarantee salvation. The biblical hero Samson<\/strong> (Judges 16), despite his formidable strength with which he overcame armies, could not control his impulses<\/strong>. He was strong in body but weak in self-control<\/strong>. This weakness ultimately led to his downfall<\/strong>.

\n <\/p>\n

The Battle Within<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The devil<\/strong> cannot make decisions for human beings; instead, he presents temptations<\/strong> and options that draw the person further away from God’s will<\/strong>. It is up to each person to decide whether to succumb to these pressures. Our main enemy is not the devil; our main enemy is our will and desires<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

When a person acts impulsively<\/strong> and contrary to the Word of God, they open the door for evil <\/strong>to influence their life. While our desires may conflict with God\u2019s will, it is ultimately up to each one of us to resist them<\/strong>, as expressed in these words from God to Cain and ultimately to each one of us:
\n <\/p>\n

(\u2026) sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it.\u2019 (Genesis 4:7)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The Strength That Only Comes From the Holy Spirit<\/strong><\/h4>\n

To overcome personal challenges, one needs spiritual strength<\/strong>. Therefore, it is absolutely urgent and critical to seek the Comforter<\/strong>. One of the fruits of the Holy Spirit<\/strong> is self-control. Those who receive the Spirit of God gain the strength to resist sin<\/strong> and navigate the challenges of spiritual life.
