It is rooted in three fundamental events: the crucifixion, the resurrection, and Pentecost. These events form the foundation of the Christian faith, which is based not on ideas or traditions but on historical, spiritual, and eternal truths. The 50 days leading up to Pentecost, extending from the resurrection to the descent of the Holy Spirit, offer a unique opportunity for true transformation.

This period serves as a preparation for the Lord Jesus’ greatest promise: the coming of the Holy Spirit, who will empower the true Christian faith and change the lives of all who believe.

The Resurrection: The Victory Over Death

The first significant milestone was Jesus’ death. On the cross, He not only suffered but took upon Himself the guilt, curse, and condemnation of humanity’s sins. His death was substitutionary: He took our place. Consequently, those who believe, embracing this faith, find deliverance, forgiveness, and salvation.

Three days later, the second event took place: the resurrection. Jesus conquered death, which had no power over Him because He was without sin. His innocence meant that death could not hold Him. His resurrection not only confirmed that He is the Son of God but also provided eternal hope for all who believe.

The Christian faith, therefore, does not end at the empty tomb. The third decisive moment occurred 50 days after Easter, on the Day of Pentecost. On that day, the Father’s promise was fulfilled: the Holy Spirit descended upon the disciples, transforming ordinary people into powerful witnesses of God’s greatness. It was then that the Church was born, marking the beginning of the mission to spread faith to all nations.

A Journey of Faith to Pentecost

For 40 days after His resurrection, Jesus presented Himself with undeniable proof before ascending to heaven. During this time, He prepared His disciples for the coming of the Holy Spirit. Jesus understood that to fulfill their mission and overcome the world’s challenges, His disciples needed more than just knowledge or courage; they required being filled with the Spirit of God.

The Holy Spirit is all that people need and should desire most. He is not merely an “extra” in the Christian life—He is God Himself, dwelling within us. When there is a thirst for His presence, with surrender and prioritizing His role in our lives, baptism with the Holy Spirit will follow.

Thus, from Easter Sunday (April 20) until Pentecost on June 8, everyone is invited to embark on this spiritual journey: 50 days of faith, surrender, and seeking the presence of the Holy Spirit. This journey will culminate in receiving the greatest gift God grants us: His own Spirit dwelling within us.

Watch this Testimony of Truly Encountering God and Receiving His Spirit

50 Days Towards Pentecost

The Universal Church is open daily, and a special meeting occurs every Wednesday to strengthen our spiritual lives and seek the Holy Spirit.
