This Tuesday, November 12th, the \u2018Journey of Faith to the Jordan River\u2019<\/strong> began. At every location of The Universal Church<\/a><\/span>, we will experience a period of inner transformation before the Altar of God. The Chosen Location<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The Jordan River is present in some passages of the Bible. Among them, it was where the Lord Jesus was baptized when He was in the form of a man in this world.<\/p>\n

Then Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan to be baptized by him. And John tried to prevent Him, saying, \u201cI need to be baptized by You, and are You coming to me?\u201d But Jesus answered and said to him, \u201cPermit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.\u201d Then he allowed Him. When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him. And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, \u201cThis is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.\u201d (Matthew 3:13-17)<\/strong><\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

In verse 6 of the same chapter, we see that the baptism in water performed by John the Baptist in the Jordan River was a symbol of the burial of a life of sin. It was a milestone between the before and the after <\/strong>in the life transformation of the person who repented and surrendered themselves to God.<\/p>\n

It is worth noting that the Lord Jesus was sinless, but He asked John to baptize Him to set an example for others. This is because baptism in water is a public confession that a person has decided to live for God.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Repentance<\/strong><\/h4>\n

During the \u201cMorning Meditation<\/strong><\/a>\u201d on November 5th, Bishop Edir Macedo<\/strong><\/a> <\/span>said: <\/span>\u201cDo you want to receive the Holy Spirit? Then, we will have the \u2018Journey of Faith,\u2019 and the theme will be \u2018Repentance.\u2019<\/strong> It was the first word that John the Baptist preached to prepare the way for the Lord Jesus. And repentance is not remorse; it is an attitude and action. You are walking towards evil, but you turn your back and walk in the opposite direction (that is, you go towards good). It is difficult, but if you try hard, the Holy Spirit will help you. However, for Him to do this, there has to be repentance.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
