Anyone who says they don\u2019t have some kind of fear is probably lying. Certainly, everyone has their daily fears, such as the fear of being robbed, having an accident, or catching a contagious disease, for example. Some are afraid of traveling by plane, being fired, or suffering something that affects their lives. Others are terrified of being betrayed by their wife, and some fear losing their loved ones in a tragedy.<\/p>\n
We could cite several situations, but the fact is that being afraid is part of life. In fact, the main question we should ask ourselves is how we deal with our fears. Are you the type to freeze or confront what deeply terrifies you? Perhaps, to face this situation, the solution is to seek strength in strategies that awaken courage or even inspiration from those who faced their greatest fears and overcame them.<\/p>\n
In this sense, the Bible provides several examples of heroes, highlighting their trajectories and how they proceeded to achieve victory. One of them, highlighted in a recent post by Bishop Renato Cardoso<\/a><\/span>, is Gideon. <\/span>\u201cTo say that Gideon was courageous is to embellish the story a little,\u201d<\/span><\/em>\u00a0 said the bishop. He analyzed the passage described in<\/span>\u00a0Judges 7, <\/span><\/strong>addressing how God dealt with the reluctant hero:\u00a0<\/span>\u201cGod said to Gideon: I have already given you the victory, but if you are afraid to attack, go down to their camp. You will listen to what they are saying, and then, you will have the courage to attack the camp.\u201d<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n As Bishop Renato explained, the proof that Gideon was afraid is that he went down to the camp to see another sign that God would give him victory: \u201cEven though God said \u2018if you are afraid, go down\u2026\u2019 Gideon was still afraid. It is important to know that the heroes of the Bible were just like us. Gideon\u2019s difference was his intelligent faith. He became courageous after the various encouragements God gave him, but at first, he was afraid like everyone else. But to use intelligent faith requires courage. That\u2019s why God patiently helped him develop it,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0 he explained.<\/p>\n And so courage and intelligent faith must be in every man\u2019s life because, as beings endowed with emotions, we are often overcome by feelings of dread when facing uncomfortable situations or being confronted. On the other hand, whoever is with God should not worry about having the image of a fearless man but rather about his Salvation. As you seek it and draw closer to God, receiving the Holy Spirit, you will be imbued and inspired with Divine courage to deal with your fears and face all obstacles.
